What You Can’t Bring To Vegas Pool Parties, From Tic Tacs To Tank Tops
This got us thinking – can you use a pool in Las Vegas even if you’re not staying at a resort?
It depends. Generally, the answer is no and a room key is required to access the pool. However, there are exceptions for both out-of-town visitors and locals.
Below, we break down which pools you can access (free or paid) even if you’re not staying on site.
NOTE: Las Vegas can be wet and change quickly. As always, we recommend calling the pool directly to confirm their current policy before traveling!

Unfortunately, none of the resorts currently offer free access to their pools for guests. Topgolf, below, is the only free pool open to the public in Las Vegas.
Topgolf’s Hideaway Pool: It may not be a resort, but Topgolf’s Level 2 pool is open to the public if you’re over 21. No purchase required. Just see and stay!
Tropicana: Local residents can enter the Tropicana pool for free any day of the week with a valid Nevada driver’s license.
The Palms: After being closed for two years, the Palms has reopened, allowing locals to enter the pool for free Monday through Thursday. Just bring your NV ID.
Vegas Pools That Non Guests Can Access
Caesars Entertainment Properties: A cabana or bed rental at the pool of your choice guarantees access, even if you’re not staying at the resort. Cabanas and daybeds can be reserved online in advance with the property of your choice.
Resorts under the Caesars umbrella include Caesars Palace, Paris, Planet Hollywood, Linq, Harrah’s, Cromwell, Bally’s, Rio and Flamingo.
MGM Resorts Features: While there are no MGM pools that offer day passes, the pools are still available for cabanas or those looking to spend the afternoon. We recommend checking out the beaches of Mandalay Bay or the MGM Grand’s sprawling pool complex. Both are equipped with a lazy river. Check out cabana rates by resort, here.
Resorts under the MGM umbrella include Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, NYNY, Park MGM, Aria, MGM Grand, Bellagio and Mirage.
