Even when surrounded by Disney magic, you still have to eat. And at Walt Disney World, dining can be an experience. I probably spend at least a little time thinking about what to eat at Disney when planning my next destination. But not all foods—and experiences—are created equal.
What Restaurants Are Open At Walt Disney World
At Disney World, you really have to think of food in two different categories: There are restaurants or normal food that is used as fuel and a bit of a staycation, and then there is food that is considered entertainment (and a way to stay). see characters or shows without crowds). That said, things are a little different at Disney World right now because of the pandemic — especially when it comes to certain dining experiences.
However, some of our favorite sit-down restaurants are still open, and regular returning menu items have been replaced. We’ll try to note these changes as they come, but be sure and check back with Disney, especially since things change all the time.
Brace yourself: Normally, you should have reserved Disney World restaurants six months in advance. Now, reservations are accepted up to 60 days before the start of your trip.
Generally, the most difficult reservations are Be Our Guest, Cinderella’s Royal Table, Chef Mickey, Victoria & Albert, Topolino Terrace (for brunch) and Ohana (for dinner).
These Will Be The Hardest Disney World Dining Reservations To Get In 2023
The My Disney Experience website and app are your best friends when it comes to dining, although Disney World maintains a phone line to answer your questions (407-WDW-DINE or 407-939-3463). The hotline opens daily at 7:00 a.m. ET, but the website begins taking reservations at 6:00 a.m. ET.
First opened in the summer of 2019 (though currently closed due to the pandemic), Takumi-Tei and its five themed rooms (water, wood, earth, stone and washi paper) immediately draw you in. a step away from the theme park model and into a relaxed, laid back environment with attentive service, solid food and great attention to detail.

It’s not cheap and you won’t see Mickey walking around, but a really good Cobb salad is worth it and you can have a mixed drink before heading back to the park.
Quick service at Disney’s best, this arcade is next door to Avatar Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom.
The beef, chicken and fish dishes make a quick and easy lunch or dinner, and the blueberry cream mousse is a real standout.
Wine and beer are available to help you unwind after your Avatar experience. This place is not only a quick service option, but also a great option if you are trying to eat healthy while at Disney World.
San Angel Inn Restaurante
If you just want the best food at Disney World, head to this wonderful restaurant at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
Don’t expect to hit it straight out of the park, as men are required to wear dinner jackets and women are expected to wear smart dresses, stylish trousers or skirts with blouses. Children under 10 are not allowed. Expect to spend two hundred pounds on food for two. It is also known that as of this update, this high-quality partnership has not yet reopened.
Until Victoria & Albert reopens, try California Grill (in the honors category, below) for a slightly more substantial meal.

Walt Disney World Resort In Orlando, Florida
What is Dole Whip? Start with a soft portion of frozen vegetables, then (if you’re good at it) add some vegetable juice. On a hot day it’s perfect.
Disneyland and Disney World were, for a long time, two of the few places you could find this food, although it is now available elsewhere. The original is in Disneyland Adventure Land. At Disney World, you can get a Dole Whip at Florida’s version of Adventureland, just behind Aladdin’s Magic Carpets on Aloha Island.
You can also find Dole Whip at Animal Kingdom in Tamu Tamu, where you can add a shot of booze, and at the Polynesian Village Resort behind the main building as you head to the pool.
Use mobile ordering in the My Disney Experience app for your Dole Whip. If you want to change things up, and they have a soft coconut towel like the Kakamora Float shown above, it’s a really fun way to try a twist on an old favorite.
Worth It Disney World Restaurants Where The Food Doesn’t Matter
A similar (and added sugar) delightful Disney treat is LeFou’s Brew, located in Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom.
If you’re a cookie person, the hottest new thing on the Disney block is a half-pound cookie from Gideon at Disney Springs.
These are the kind of treats that if you need to see the food facts before you order them you don’t need to bother because … they’re huge, wobbly and without printed calorie facts. On the regular menu you’ll find the original chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, triple chocolates and other special and limited options that are available for sale early in the morning. Rumor has it that the peanut butter coffee is not to be missed if you’re into that kind of ice cream.
If you want one of these cookies (maximum purchase of six), you may need to enter the virtual queue once you arrive at Disney Springs by going to Gideon and adding your number to the list. The virtual wait is usually an hour or two, followed by 10 – 20 minutes in the physical line when they text you that it’s your turn to check in. The virtual cutoff to enter the queue can sometimes be several hours before closing, so be prepared to get in line before 7pm. to have a good shot at cookie bliss.

If you ask me, there’s no doubt that the best food in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is definitely Ronto’s Roasters.
There are two versions of the Ronto Wrap – both cost around $13 (£9) and taste great with grilled pork sausage wrapped in a warm pita at the base. Breakfast includes eggs and cheese, while after breakfast includes pepper sauce, roast pork and cabbage.
