Face masks are also required at Blizzard Beach in designated areas but not while in the water or at any attractions. Visitors can remove the mask while eating or drinking.

Before reopening, Blizzard Beach has been closed since March 2020 along with Typhoon Lagoon which remains closed. Disney did not say when it might reopen.

Blizzard Beach joins other water parks in Central Florida that have reopened, including Universal’s Volcano Bay, which recently completed a seasonal closure. GET OUR APP Our Spectrum News app is the easiest way to get the stories that matter to you. Download here.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park will reopen Nov. 13 with new features inspired by the animated movie “Frozen.”

Our Disney Typhoon Lagoon Guide For Families

What You Need to Know Disney has set a reopening date for its Blizzard Beach water park, which has been closed since January, to reopen on November 13. Disney added some “Frozen”-inspired touches to the park.

New “Frozen”-inspired additions will include an Olaf and Snowgies statue in the wading pool on Tike’s Peak and Anna and Elsa’s igloo castle.

There will also be new “Frozen”-themed menu items available at the park, Disney officials said in a news release Tuesday.

Another upgrade that visitors may notice is the park’s “enhanced” holiday atmosphere. And this year, the park will have limited holiday offerings like themed candy, snow tires and a meet and greet with a tropically dressed Santa Claus.

Blizzard Beach closed in January and underwent a lengthy renovation. With the reopening, another Disney water park, Typhoon Lagoon, will close for its own repairs starting November 13.

Since reopening in mid-2020, Disney World has used park ticket reservations for its theme parks, but park reservations are not required to visit the water parks. There are many reasons why Florida is one of the best family vacation spots in the United States. Between beach towns, dining options, all-inclusive Florida resorts, Orlando theme parks and unique Florida attractions, the Sunshine State has something for all ages and interests. . And when the days heat up, nothing beats the best Orlando water parks like Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon for all-day fun.

These two Disney water parks rise to the top with family raft rides, body slides, lazy rivers and one of the fastest rides in the entire Disney theme park empire. If you’re thinking of visiting Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon, here’s everything you need to know to have the perfect day.

To maximize your time at Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon, be sure to arrive at the park about 30 minutes before opening. This will allow you to get into the park and find a base for the day before all the best spots are taken.

Disney World Water Parks Won’t Open Until 2021

Around the two water parks, there are beach chairs and chairs ready. If you get to Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon early enough, you can also snag a covered gazebo (for free!), which will provide some much-needed shade over time.

Mobile ordering is everywhere at Walt Disney World. If you take full advantage of it, your day at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach will really happen

A day at the beach To order food via mobile, you must download the My Disney Experience app and link a credit card to your account. There are several locations in Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon that offer mobile ordering.

One thing to note about mobile ordering at Blizzard Beach is that it takes significantly less time than some of the in-park locations at the main theme parks at Walt Disney World. So there’s really no need to order 30 minutes to an hour earlier than when you really want to eat. Be sure to bring your cell phone with you when you go to pick up your food so the Disney Cast member working the window can grab the right tray for you.

Water Parks In Southern California (updated 2021)

Just as you would plan your amusement park visit around the rides at the top of your to-do list, you’ll want to prioritize certain attractions at Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.

At Blizzard Beach, for example, if you plan to ride the massive Summit Plummet body slide then you want to get there first because the lines can get very long very quickly. The easiest (and most fun) way to get to the top of Mount Gushmore is to take the cable car located near the front of the park. The journey will take you to the top of the mountain where you just have to climb a few more steps to reach the top. Here you will also find other body slides and family raft rides. Getting rid of the big rides ahead of time will also help reduce your wait time elsewhere.

If you really want to spice up your day at the water park, you can rent private cabana rooms (called Polar Patios at Blizzard Beach and Beachcomber Shacks at Typhoon Lagoon). These cabin spaces are located all around the park, with many near the entrances to the slides and attractions. There are some additional benefits to renting a private cabin, such as having a designated room for your family where others won’t be nearby, chairs and couches in every space, and closets to store all your valuables.

As part of your day at the Pole Yard or Beachcomber Shacks, you’ll have a designated Cast Member bring you new food, drinks and towels. The menu for this cabin room is limited, but the dining options are meant to be shared between four and six people. You can also order lunch and snacks from other places around the park.

Polar Patio and Beachcomber Shack guests also receive refillable water park cups, which are the same as the refillable cups you can get from Disney resorts. This mug is great for refilling soda and water during the day at the fountains around Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach.
