The Kahala Hotel And Resort Honolulu Hawaii – Kahala Hotel & Resort is a luxury hotel on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. It first opened in 1964 under the name Kahla Hilton. Established as an exclusive resort far from Waikiki, it has become a popular destination for celebrities such as Frank Sinatra and Elton John. Foreign dignitaries include Queen Elizabeth II, Reverend Desmond Tutu, and the Dalai Lama. and eight US presidents.

A major turning point came when NBC booked all the rooms at the Kahala Hilton for its annual branch meeting and introduced key stars including singer Andy Williams.

Since 1967, singer Danny Kalikini has headlined the Hala Terrace at the Kahala Hilton.
Initially, part of the Hilton Company, Hilton Kahala was spun off in March 1968 and is owned by Hilton International.

In 2017, the Hawaii Legislature considered a resolution requiring locations in Hawaii to stop breeding and keeping dolphins and other worms in captivity. The solution is stuck.
In May of the same year, protesters participating in the International Tank Emptying Day demanded that the dolphins at the Kahala Hotel try to free their captive marine creatures.

The lodge has one of the largest rooms in Hawaii, starting at 550 square feet with his and hers bathrooms and closets. The newly renovated rooms and suites are spacious and decorated in a minimalist Hawaiian style with mahogany furniture.
For our recent stay we stayed in a double room with a mountain view. The room gave us plenty of space for our family of 4 and the separate sink and bath/shower were nice.

The Kahala Hotel & Resort Review: What To Really Expect If You Stay
For reference, we stayed in an oceanfront room with a Juliet balcony. The spacious rooms are classically decorated in light earth tones, with views from large windows as a must-have feature.
The bathroom is well laid out for two people, sharing two appliances and two separate cabinets on either side. There is a beautiful step shower and a separate pool. The toilet is located in its closet and is equipped with a bidi toilet seat.
When I stay in a luxury hotel, I expect luxurious fabrics and Kahela definitely lives up to the expectations. We have thick towels, rugs and quality linens.

How To Get From Honolulu Airport To Kahala Hotel & Resort
Let’s start with the resort amenities by splashing the pool and beach. The resort has an oval-shaped swimming pool in front of the sea, surrounded by chairs, pillows and umbrellas. There is also a shallow pool for children and a jacuzzi pool. For the beach, chairs and towels are available for the beach and grass area.
For more diving, there is Dolphin Quest, where you have the opportunity to interact with live dolphins. Andy and I enjoyed the Dolphin experience in 2007. Even if you are not in the water with the dolphins, it is fun to visit them in this lake.
There is plenty of other wildlife to see in the saltwater pool with juvenile hono (turtles) and tropical fish. It’s a great way to watch fish without getting wet.
