Nice Hotels In Orlando Florida – Our stay at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando in Orlando, Florida was one of our favorite hotels we have enjoyed anywhere in the world. Waldorf hotels are synonymous with impeccable service, exquisite ambiance and the best amenities money can buy, all in the most desirable locations around the world. The staff at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando went above and beyond to make our week at the hotel, our time at the Walt Disney World parks, and the engagement ceremony of our two best friends truly extraordinary.
Upon arrival at the Waldorf Astoria, even though it was past midnight when we arrived, the front desk staff greeted us with big smiles. He welcomed us to the property and explained the various amenities, including the Waldorf Astoria Orlando now an official Disney resort. As an official Disney resort, the hotel has shuttle service to the Disney parks, and the Waldorf has the same privileges as early park hours, special rates, and other perks that Walt Disney World’s on-site resorts have.

The actual check-in took about 10 seconds, which was a relief because we were so tired. We were also given free water and escorted to our rooms, where our bags were already waiting for us. Overall, this was the easiest and most helpful login experience we’ve ever had.
Orlando Hotels & Resorts
The whole hotel has a beach feel, with lots of blue, reflective tiles and surfaces, as well as decorative seashell motifs throughout the hotel. They were subtle, but made the whole place feel underwater. Marble floors, extremely high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the hotel’s pool made the Waldorf Astoria feel more like a palace than a hotel, making us all feel like royalty.
Our room was spacious and had a great view of the pool, the Waldorf Astoria golf course and the Walt Disney World parks in the distance. As I mentioned, we visited Orlando with my childhood best friend and her boyfriend (now fiance), although with so much to do near the hotel, we admittedly had to stay in our hotel rooms. Didn’t spend much time.
The bathroom was huge, with floor-to-ceiling marble, a deep soaking tub, a spacious standing shower, and a wall-to-wall sink that made daily reading fun. Salvatore Ferragamo toiletries were placed in our room and refilled daily by the host. We never heard other guests from our room, and with beds and pillows that were much more comfortable than those in our house. We slept very well every night, leaving us fully refreshed for our adventures each day.
As I mentioned, my best friend Jamie got engaged during our trip. Shane, her Australian fiancé, revealed to Robin and I that he planned to propose during our trip. He requested our help in coordinating the proposal, which I was very excited to be a part of!

When we found out Shane was planning to propose, the Waldorf Astoria Orlando threw us a gala lunch and drinks poolside.
, and they upgraded our rooms. In addition, they had a wonderful breakfast of fruit, pastries, OJ and champagne to make mimosas as well as other breakfast foods that were sent to our rooms for us to fill up on before we hit the parks. .
Knowing before our trip that Shane was planning to propose allowed me to put together an engagement gift package for him. That gave me plenty of time to buy matching shirts for their engagement photos at Walt Disney World. Thanks to the speedy delivery provided by PuntoDesigns, they arrived just in time for packing and were the perfect surprise for the happy couple after Shane popped the question.
Keep an eye out to see what else I put in Jamie’s engagement gift basket as everything Robyn and I wish we had pulled out when we were planning our wedding. How cute are these two? They are truly the sweetest people I know and I am so excited to see what life has in store for them as they plan their wedding and move to Australia!

With the help of the Waldorf Astoria Orlando team, our trip and celebration of Jamie and Shane’s engagement became even more memorable and exciting. I could not be more grateful for the excellent service they provided during our stay which exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, I can’t say enough good things about the Waldorf Astoria Orlando.
In my previous post, I wrote about my amazing meal at Aquamarine, where I had a delicious Maine lobster and shrimp spinach wrap sandwich and a refreshing strawberry mint Caesar salad. Robin had his sea bass sandwich on challah bread and prosecco ice cream (which was absolutely delicious) and Jamie ordered his Reuben and Bloody Mary, while Shane had his signature pepperoni pizza.
Dinner by the pool with the fresh Florida air was just what the doctor ordered and our celebratory lunch was one of the highlights of our stay. You can read more about our food and aquamarine in my post here.
Not the only dinner we had during our trip was with Jamie and Shane, where they celebrated their engagement. This gave Robin and I time to try the Waldorf Astoria Orlando’s in-house restaurant, Bill & Bear, which, according to TripAdvisor, is one of the top 10 restaurants in Orlando.

Our meal did not disappoint and we enjoyed fresh Dover sole, deboned table, fresh, fried mushrooms, jumbo shrimp, lobster macaroni and cheese, delicious vegetable soup and drinks. Check out my full review.
The Waldorf Astoria Orlando Pool and Spa are two of the most beautiful pools and spas I have ever seen. Their pool is huge and was one of the main reasons we booked this hotel in the first place. Surrounded by palm trees, private cabanas and poolside food and beverage service, a hot tub, and a large deck overlooking the pool along with lots of yard games, I spent the week lounging by the pool. Could spend reading, swimming. , and enjoying the beautiful weather.
Their spa, which you can read about here , was where I got the best massage I’ve ever had. Theresa aka my new BFF (sorry Jamie and Robin lol) gave me the most relaxing hot stone massage but with a twist. Instead of traditional river stones, she used hot, pink Himalayan salt stones to release tension from my neck, shoulders, back and arms. The Himalayan salt, which has gentle exfoliating properties, was much warmer and more effective than other hot stone massages I’ve had in the past. The spa’s relaxation area, pictured below, had color-changing lights and offered drinks and refreshments for after-service care and lounging.
I can honestly say that I have never felt so relaxed in my life. Theresa also gave me great recommendations on what to eat at Epcot (Avocado Margaritas at Epcot may sound weird, but they tasted amazing! – Thanks, Theresa!), and told me that she had her job at the Waldorf. How much do you love? She was a real joy to talk to and the best masseuse I have ever had. The hotel is lucky to have it, and I only regret that I live so far away from it, haha!
