Johor Bahru Hotel With Bathtub – I was invited to visit JB’s newest hotel, TROVE Johor Bahru. It is only 5-10 minutes by car from JB CIQ, so it is very convenient for visitors from Singapore.
The hotel has 283 rooms on 27 floors. TROVE was the Selesa Hotel in its previous life – new owners Care Luxury Hotels & Resorts have completely renovated the building inside and out. The stunning new hotel opened in December 2018 after nearly two years of major renovations.

Level 8 Grand Ballroom seats 600. It used to be the pool area of the old Silesa Hotel but has been completely converted into a grand ballroom on this sprawling pier. There are 2 small ballrooms and 7 function rooms for meetings, seminars, conferences and events.

Basic toiletries are provided, so there’s no need to pack your stuff (if you’re like me, who doesn’t care about toiletries).
Many hotels have removed bottled water, and the TROVE Hotel is no exception. Each room is equipped with a dispenser for hot and cold water in the room. I like the convenience of having a water dispenser in the room (as opposed to having parts outside in the common corridor).

I stayed in a room with fun geometry, decorated with traditional Islamic designs with a modern twist.
Oh… I’m glad to know TROVE is a non-smoking hotel – one of my pet peeves is the stale tobacco smell in the carpets, curtains and bedding. TROV has no such problem.
Wi-Fi signal strength is strong and internet speed is fast at TROVE hotel (something I still can’t accept even in a famous 5-star hotel brand).

Lada and Living offer a buffet breakfast (as well as lunch, high tea and dinner). For breakfast, there are main dishes of rice and pasta with side dishes. There is a porridge station, an egg station (live cooking), cereals, bread, cakes, fruit etc. Juice, coffee and tea are available.
