Most InterContinental Hotels Group brands in the US and Canada offer a completely smoke-free environment. The company recently expanded its smoking policy to include smoking in all forms, including e-cigarettes.
All Marriott International and Starwood Hotels and Resorts properties must be smoke-free in the United States and Canada. Marriott recently acquired Starwood.
Smoking is still allowed in hotels in other regions due to cultural norms, although Choice’s Joyce points out that “Europe is catching up”.
