Recently, as part of my first mileage, I had the opportunity to make a quick overnight turn in Orlando. I wanted to review the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport Hotel and quickly share my thoughts on this airport hotel in Orlando Florida.
Hotels In Orlando Airport Florida
You’ll never believe this, but… the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport is located… at the airport! It was the first time I personally stayed at an airport hotel that was actually IN the airport, and the comfort factor was huge!
La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Orlando Airport North
After you get off the shuttle back to the central area of the airport, the Hyatt Regency Orlando Florida is right there! It’s probably not more than a 5 minute walk to The Club MCO Priority Pass lounge where we stopped for a quick snack. You go up the escalator to the lobby level, which has McCoy’s restaurant and check-in desk.
The Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport is a Category 3 Hyatt hotel, meaning it costs 12,000 points/night. I was a little confused about booking a hotel in the Orlando airport because there are so many options, but in the end I went with the convenience of being inside the airport. Especially now that the Hyatt Place Orlando Airport is no longer Category 1 (it’s Category 2 or 8000 points/night), the extra cost at that point is worth it. Staybridge Suites Orlando Airport South at 25,000 IHG point was another option I stayed in the last time I was in Orlando.
As with most hotels in the Orlando area, cash prices vary greatly depending on what’s going on in town. Check out some upcoming dates, it’s at least $200/night and many nights
This makes using 12,000 Hyatt points a pretty attractive option at 2 to 3 cents per point.
Getting Around Mco
Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport has 10 floors. I was in room 8114, which is on the 8th floor in one corner of the hotel. We were not recognized as Globalist members at check-in, but I believe we were upgraded from a standard room – I think we had a Junior Suite.
As well as a large “living room” with a TV. There are no separate rooms with doors or even any dividers, which I know annoys some who say it’s not a suite if it doesn’t have a door.
An interesting feature I noticed late at night is that there is a light under the bed that will turn on when you get out of bed in the middle of the night.
The bathroom is on the left as you enter the apartment and is modern. A nice touch I noticed is that the mirror has a small LED clock built in so you can see what time it is if you use the bathroom in the middle of the night.
The 8 Best Hotels Near Orlando Airport
We requested an airport view room (see below) and were very pleased with our view. I got there a little before 10pm. and the noise of the airport was not a problem at all during the night. Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport offers complimentary earplugs.
If you’re wondering if the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport has an executive lounge, tragically, the answer is no, it doesn’t. There is no Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport executive lounge. If you have enough elite status in the World of Hyatt program, then you have the option of free breakfast at the Hemispheres restaurant on the 9th floor (see below).
Although there is no Orlando Airport Hyatt Regency Executive lounge, Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport has 2 restaurants – McCoy on the main floor (4) and Hemisphere on the 9th (and 10th) floors. As a globalist, since there is no Orlando Airport Hyatt Regency executive lounge, I took advantage of the breakfast at Hemisphere, which opens at 5:30 a.m. for breakfast
They have a menu that you can order as well as a buffet breakfast. I chose the buffet, which was plentiful. They had several hot dishes including eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, pancakes and toast.
Quality Inn & Suites Orlando Airport, Orlando
The Hyatt Regency has a fitness center on the 6th floor with a variety of machines and free weights.
There is also a heated outdoor swimming pool located on the 6th floor. Apparently it is on the roof as it has some nice views.
When I checked into this hotel at Orlando airport, they told me they did something new for “wellness” and gave me this bag. I’m not sure if it’s for all members or only members of a certain elite status (I’m currently a Hyatt Globalist). Inside are some sticks of what appear to be travel size essential oils? My daughter said the sleeping stick smelled like lavender, which I know is sometimes used as a sleeping pill.
Okay, I’ll admit it – I’m crazy about filling out the “special requests” box when making hotel reservations. I like it

After going to the room, I went in first (as usual, going to take pictures 😀 ). My daughter said “Don’t tell me if there’s anything in there!” – I don’t think he really expected the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport staff to come. But…. boom!
With the airport view room, this is 3/3 for Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport and I have to give them 5 stars in my Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport hotel review.
