Kell’s Bar serves food from brunch to dinner daily from 12:00 to 22:00. This cozy bar has something for everyone. Bar Kells also has live music every Saturday evening. The newly renovated Hugo restaurant also serves a carvery lunch daily from 12:30 to 15:00 and dinner from Friday to Sunday from 18:00.

It does not work well as a business hotel. There is no room service and the restaurants are only open for limited hours. So if you arrive after lunch at 2pm like I did, you can’t eat. Also, if you arrive at the hotel after 22.00, the kitchen is closed and there is not even room to walk. If you want to eat here, the portions are big and the quality is good. There is a pool but you have to make a reservation to use it so if you are working at unpredictable times it is not useful. The premises are dated. The windows barely open (on the first floor) and there is no thermostat to regulate the room temperature – or it is very well hidden! Although the staff is quite nice.

We stayed five nights in a superior room at the B&B and the review is based on that. One evening we had lunch at a cafe, but I wrote a separate review about that. The room was very spacious with a very large bed, a large sofa and two other chairs. And it was very quiet. There were three weddings at the hotel while we were there, but we would never have known it from our room. The bathroom was spacious with a large bath as well as a powerful shower over it. There were more than enough toiletries and towels. Breakfast had a huge selection, from all the elements of a traditional Irish breakfast to cereals, pastries, cheese and fresh fruit (including a choice of eggs). But my memory is not really good enough to remember everything that was there. You can use the pool and gym for free, which I used once. Refrigerators are not provided by default, but we asked for one at check-in and it was already there when we got our luggage out of the car and into our room. We walked around Newbridge most evenings and tried different foods each time. It was bright, like mid-June, but our only concern was that it was impossible to walk from the hotel to the main road and we had to use that road as a vehicle. But as for our overall stay, it was wonderful and we would be more than happy to go back.
Stayed here for one night, there was a wedding but we didn’t attend. I was a little worried that there would be some noise, but we didn’t hear anything. The beds were very comfortable. The lounge was lovely and cozy with a fire and live piano music. Breakfast is good. We visited the pool which was nice and clean overall a nice stay. Would recommend 👌
I hadn’t been to this hotel in 15 years so I was wondering how I got on after leaving Newbridge. Upon arrival, the friendly receptionist told us our room would be ready in 15 minutes – we arrived early. The swimming pool area is an unrivaled and long space for swimming. Breakfast both mornings were excellent and the food was delicious and varied. Dinner last night was incredibly delicious and our kids were treated like royalty. Very extensive menu and quite reasonable. We will definitely be back as soon as possible…
Aura Navan Leisure Centre
I booked a single room for one night at the end of September. When I checked in I found myself waiting quite a long time, even though the desk clerk didn’t call, I had to wait for the clerk to finish the phone call before I was checked in. They weren’t particularly friends. This was disappointing and I had a strong desire to have dinner at the restaurant which kept me from making a reservation. The room was clean and comfortable. I had previously booked an evening swim at 16.20, and there was one lane reserved for swimming, the other 2 lanes were used for children’s swimming lessons. However, kids who were early for their sessions kept trying to get in or jump the lane. Most of the ‘digital’ lockers that were in place were not working and only 50% of parents were wearing shoe protectors at the pool. In the morning I went to the breakfast room, but there was no staff there and there was a half-visible sign that said “Please wait to be seated”. I waited at least 5 minutes and went into the breakfast room twice to try to find an employee, but only hotel guests were eating. I went back to the front desk and was told someone would be leaving soon. I was then told almost patronizingly that I should sit down and someone would come out, but nothing was mentioned, in fact only one sign appeared. Breakfast was good but the fruit in the fruit salad was very bland. When I went to check in, the receptionist walked by but didn’t say anything. I would not stay here again as there are plenty of other hotels in Ireland with friendly staff.
