It was the greatest hotel experience I have ever had and I didn’t even stay in a hotel. My girlfriend and I booked a late night break – sunset and Matterhorn package and our expectations were not met. The pool area with LED lights and stars was beautiful. We had a private spa which was not great. There was a steam bath, a sauna, a private bath and a 2-person bathtub with colorful lights and peaceful music. After 90 minutes in the spa we were taken to our fondue meal which was excellent. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our experience was 11/10. At the end of the night, the reception manager drove us HIMSELF into town because it was too muddy to fly down and there were no other taxis. To be honest, we only did the spa package and did not stay as a guest at the hotel. Do yourself a favor and order, you won’t be disappointed!

Hotel Villa Silvana
We waited three years (due to Covid) to celebrate our wedding at Silvana Mountain Lodge and it was definitely worth the wait! Dany, the host, was a wonderful host and nothing was too much trouble. He always had a smile on his face and even rode his bike early to see us off. His entire team went above and beyond during our stay to ensure we had the best possible experience. We stayed in one of the small rooms (lodges) which were very nice with amazing views and very nice facilities. It was a very special feeling to have so much luxury in the mountains. The spa was very clean, stocked with towels, amazing pool, steam rooms and sauna, bucket bath(!) and lots of hidden spots to catch some zzzz’s. The food in the guest house is simple and tasty. We had a 5 course dinner for the wedding and all the guests enjoyed it and the next night we had a romantic 3 course dinner for two. The whole night was exceptional and in my opinion typical Michelin food! Breakfast had lots of choices and a good coffee machine. I can’t say anything bad about this hotel and the setting. You’d be crazy not to visit this beautiful family-run hotel in one of the world’s most beautiful locations. Thank you Dany and all your team – we will be back next year! And we’ll send you something in the post soon! Jazz and Pete x love
This hotel is only suitable for the pool. I have never seen someone with mountains on the walls and stars in the sky. Access is by lift or taxi, but the location is great for summer walks. Very hard mattress and pillow; see if this suits your taste.
We really enjoyed our stay. The convenience of skiing with children is obvious. The pool/spa area was great. Good breakfast. The children’s menu for lunch does not have many options, but it is still possible. Half board for adults was good.
Dear Tatiana, Thank you for your nice review. We will definitely consider your opinion about the choice of baby food and try to improve it. Thanks again for your kind comments and we’ll see you soon! Sincerely

Last year we stayed at Silvana during Corona (January 2021) when Zermatt was the only open ski area. Then we rated the hotel with 5 stars. Now we are back (January 2022) because of the good experience. We give the hotel high points again: the rooms are new, clean, comfortable (lots of wood). The room is well maintained, modern TVs, heating system, bathroom, safe, large wardrobe, comfortable beds and mattresses. We were half board and dinner three or four nights. Soup, salad buffet and then two or three courses, choice of main course (one vegetarian option). It was good, different and enough (we are big eaters, so after a full day of skiing we ate every plate until the end). I had a raclette cheese and fondue night one night which was lovely and relaxing. The restaurant is also very good. One note: for some people it might not matter, but for us as wine lovers: the wine list was not big: not much choice (one selection of Barolo, one Langhe, no chianti and no brunello, very close to Italy). Walliser’s local reds were nicer, but generally the price/quality of wine in Zermatt restaurants is not good (all the main bottles were around 60CHF) and that was the case here. I don’t think the menu is worse than other places in Zermatt, but for Europeans who are used to traveling to Italian hotels and restaurants, it is completely different (in Italy you can get a good Brunello or Barolo for 60 euros). The breakfast has everything you need, even a little improved, with many choices of bread, meat and cheese. Boiled eggs or scrambled eggs on request. The health area is also large. It is not very big, but it is organized efficiently and has everything: two saunas, a steam bath, infrared showers, a relaxation area, a pool and bubble baths. All very clean. Very friendly staff throughout the hotel. The location is good, on slope 51 (avoid 52, it has high parts), good for skiers. In fact, because it is on the mountain, you are outside the city. It is possible to walk to Zermatt, but an effort to climb. Taxis are available (but at Swiss prices), although the cable car is more convenient to hop on from Furi station (an easy 3-minute walk). The hotel has downhill skiing, which is fun. You have to use an electric car with luggage to and from. We parked in Tasch with Taxi Fredy (8CHF/night parking), he took us to Zermatt Urania (30CHF) and then the hotel picked us up from there, which is smooth and easy. The town itself was much nicer now (open restaurants and shops), the ski area is still quiet (January 8-15, out of New Year’s season), which was nice. The entrance to Italy is closed for 2 days, opened for 5. The slopes on the sides of Italy are excellent, long, wide and even calm. Of course, you have to pass the 3883 m Matterhorn glacier. The slopes are not very difficult, but can be difficult in bad weather. For us (3 ski trips a year), Zermatt is our favorite (with Solden in second place and Val Gardena in third) and Silvana is where we will return.
Dear DukeBelgium, Thank you very much for your nice review. You definitely give great advice to other travelers and we appreciate it! Yes, we are glad that you enjoyed it with us again and of course we enjoyed having you again. Our wine menu really matches the size of our small Hotel, and we give more credit to Swiss wines for the low level of traffic and therefore our contribution to improving the environment. We certainly understand your passion for Italian wine, as many of our staff share the same passion. The next time you come to visit us and you feel like having another Brunello, Chianti or Barolo, just ask us about it, you never know what Furini can offer 😉 We also have a few interesting events waiting for you. next time for you on the wine selections. Greetings from Furry and all the best to you and your family
