Can You Pool Hop At Universal Hotels – We spent our big night out. We had our big dress coordination day. We’ve all been to a water park. We ticked a few Bachelorette weekend boxes, but we still had one thing to do: complete relaxation. It looks like Universal Orlando Resort is the perfect place for that too.
50% of local resorts are invited to jump in the pool among the five hotels. As each of the hotel’s pools has different benefits and amenities, it was almost impossible to choose between them for our last day in Orlando! In fact, we didn’t want to miss any. That’s why we decided not to. Thus was born the five-day pool jumping challenge.

For the second half of our trip, we stayed at the Cabana Bay Beach Resort, Universal’s cheapest hotel (for now – an even more budget hotel, the Aventura, under construction). So we began our journey by physically and figuratively crossing over to the other side of Universal: Loews Portofino Bay, the resort’s most luxurious property.

Portofino Bay is an Italian-themed hotel and Bali-themed spa in true Orlando style. Mandara Spa is the only on-site spa at Universal Orlando Resort and welcomes guests from Universal properties and beyond. We started the day early with a workout at the on-site gym before checking out our well-deserved treatments. I chose the Massage Dolce Limoncello Body Polish, which contains Portofino’s signature body polish infused with vanilla and lemongrass.
Whilst the spa itself was undergoing some work and renovations and some areas were closed, we were still able to use the sauna and pre-treatment in the relaxation room and when I got up from the table I was floating on air – my masseuse was so skilled that i actually asked her where she studied massage! (I guess I can follow other alumni?)
We finally reached our maximum happiness level and headed out to the pool to continue the fun. A lush fruit bowl and frozen peach bellini were the perfect post-massage treat, splashing around at Portofino’s Villa Pool, one of three on the property.
We’d heard that this particular pool was for adults only, but realized we were being misinformed as more and more children were filtered out – it turns out there are no officially adults-only pools in Portofino, Villa Pool and Hillside Pool notwithstanding. tends to be a little quieter and more relaxed than the busy Beach Pool. For the first hour we were there it was completely quiet.

But it’s finally time to go to the Hard Rock Hotel! We had hoped to take a water taxi directly from one hotel to the next, but the captain couldn’t dock, so we had to go back to CityWalk – looking back, walking between hotels could have been quicker.
Hard Rock was a different world from Portofino Bay. Here, in the legendary home of rock n’ roll royalty, the 12,000-square-foot pool has an underwater sound system, so a poolside DJ spins tunes that can be heard both above and below the water.
And that’s not all. There are also two Jacuzzis, a real beach, a volleyball court and our favorite part, the waterslide. Unlike the waterslides at Volcano Bay, you are welcome to bring your cameras – of course we love that. And it wasn’t even a small slip!

Then let’s go back to where it all began: Royal Pacific Resort! To get here, take a water taxi to CityWalk and transfer to Royal Pacific. We had spent some time at this pool earlier in our stay so we didn’t stay.
But we benefit from a little secret we learned. While the pool area is always packed with families enjoying the lagoon-style pool and Royal Bali Sea children’s water playground, the hotel has a small private beach overlooking the lagoon. taxis pass. it’s almost
Empty. While you can’t go in the water here – you have to assume there are alligators in every Florida body of water, including bathtubs – this is a great place to sunbathe and enjoy some peace and quiet.
With three pools on our hands, it was time for a late lunch at Sapphire Falls Resort. This is a hotel I’ve been lucky enough to have stayed at twice, so it felt like I was giving Olivia and Ashlee a tour of my Orlando home away from home. This time, we skipped the water taxi and wandered down the resort’s lush walkway.

I really like this pool. It has a great waterslide, a fun fire pit, and a great overall layout – somehow it never feels crowded.

We brought a Royal Pacific glass with us for the day, not sure if it would work at other hotels but never mind the logo on the glass, we found each bartender handing us a brand new celebratory glass for the price of $10 – which meant we were done. day with a super fun souvenir, a complete set of glasses for each of the five pools! (I gave the set to my aunt in Tampa, who now reserves them for poolside parties at her house.) And we only paid $10 each.
We also took a lunch break at the Drhum Club Kantine. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I think Sapphire Falls has the best food at Universal Orlando Resorts, and the Drhum Club is no exception. On many visits I’ve tried the veggie wrap, pork tacos, and baja spiced chicken salad – all great! Looking for something sweeter? Desserts are also very good.

I love Sapphire Falls so much I was sad to leave! But we were on a mission… and there was only one stop left to complete it.
With a quick walk down the street, we arrive at our hotel, our final stop: Cabana Bay Beach Resort!
For this stop, I prepared some very special pool accessories, especially with a bachelorette party theme. On the lazy river at Cabana Bay, you can buy name-brand floats locally or bring your own to the float cabin to inflate for free. Does the baby engagement ring float? To control. Champagne bottle range float? checked.
Also, some of our special guests stopped by for our last stop. Keyth, one of Ashlee’s best men, and his wife, Kristina, are Orlando natives and came to meet us with a float and a cold drink—a soda (twin) since Kristina is pregnant. , Olivia hoped this would make the above picture perfect — ha!)

We did! Five hotels with a pool in one day. Wow. You know, sometimes you have to really challenge yourself to overcome difficult goals and achieve perfection. I couldn’t be more proud of all of us.
Seriously, it was the perfect note to end Orlando with. The eight days I spent there were long, and as you can probably tell from the six separate blog posts I wrote at the time, they were packed!
The surprising thing, though, is that I left with a lot more that I wanted to come back to. Of all the business partnerships I’ve built over the years, this one has definitely had a lasting impact – working with Universal Orlando reignited my childhood love of theme park destinations, and I’m having so much fun sharing that with my family. and friends.
